Nakuru Governor describes Waiguru's move like "parable of the oil in lamp"



Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has said Kirinyaga Governor's move to UDA a reminds him of the parable of the oil in the lamp. The parable of the oil in the lamp described ten virgins who were waiting for the groom. Some five who were wise had brought oil for their lamps while the other five who were foolish did not bring some oil for their lamps. The five virgins who are prepared for the bridegroom's arrival were rewarded, while the five who went to buy further oil missed the bridegroom's arrival and were disowned.


"We have learnt of the decision by our colleague to sign up with team yellow. As the Ibo say, a toad does not run in the daytime for nothing. In politics, timing is key, it is what distinguishes a master stroke from a disastrous move. It has ended many careers if not well thought."


"Having said that, I am reminded of the parable of the ladies who finished their oil before the main wedding. When the final day came, they were empty.The wedding starts in January," he said.

He added that he respects her decision and wishes her well in the coming season. Adding that "we shall remember her as a respected and resourceful member of our team."
