Today, world leaders descend on Glasgow, Scotland, UK, for the UN Climate Change Conference- #COP26, themed #TogetherForOurPlanet.
It is an opportunity for rich countries and CO2 polluters to save the planet and people, especially vulnerable communities in countries like #Kenya and #Turkana in particular, who are not responsible for #greenhousegases emissions causing #climate change-linked events, such as drought and rising #Lake Turkana water levels.
In the past month, for example, the #ClimateEmergency, lake water level rise, has displaced hundreds of people and destroyed livelihoods and businesses in #TurkanaCounty. It is time for world leaders to #ActNOWOnClimateChange#climatecrisis#AfricaCOP#unfccc#UNEP#UNDP#HIVOS
