Only 2.2 per cent of the adult population in Turkana County have been vaccinated according to the Ministry of Health.
In a press statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe noted that only 10,251 out of the targeted 468,878 had been partially vaccinated by the end of last month.
Turkana County ranked 38th out of 47 counties with West Pokot, Garissa, Samburu, Mandera, Isiolo, Lamu, Wajir, Tana River and Marsabit which ranked lower with those partially vaccinated below 10,000.
So far, a total of 3.6 million out of the target 27.2 million have been partially vaccinated in the country meaning only 13.5 per cent.
Those fully vaccinated are 1.6 million (6 per cent) countrywide and only 5696 in Turkana County.
