Augustine Lokwang Ekitela
Capt. Augustine Lokwang (rtd) is a security advisor to the Governor, Turkana County. Before joining Turkana County Government, Augustine was a project coordinator at the Danish Demining Group (DDG) managing Kenya Extractive Industry Community Engagement pilot project in Turkana and LAPSSET Conflict Risk Mapping pilot project in Lamu County. Previously, he worked as a security risk consultant at Tullow Oil extractive operations in Turkana County. Augustine worked as a commissioned officer in the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) for 10 years serving in AMISOM operations in Kismayu and Dhobley, Somalia. He is a member of the International Security Management Institute. Augustine holds a BSc degree and a diploma in Military Science, a certified security management professional (CSMP®) Level 6 Accredited Diploma (UK). Currently, he is studying an MSc in Governance, Peace and Security at Africa Nazarene University. He comments on security issues.
